Freeman Highway Bridge to Undergo Routine Maintenance
Scheduled Work to Close Freeman Highway on May 4, 2021
LEWES, Del. – Delaware River and Bay Authority (DRBA) officials announced today that the Freeman Highway Bridge will undergo routine maintenance during the first week of May 2021, which will result in a temporary, short closure of Freeman Highway in Lewes.
The DRBA maintenance department will be performing a thorough cleaning of the bridge, including flushing out storm drains and washing the steel beams and concrete underneath the bridge deck.
For safety reasons and weather permitting, Freeman Highway will be closed to traffic on Tuesday, May 4, 2021 between the hours of 8:00A – 12:00 noon. Should inclement weather be present on Tuesday, the work schedule will shift to Wednesday, May 5, 2021.
