PERMITS - PARKING PERMITS FOR LEWES BEACH
One of the recommendations from the Beach Parking Committee was the consideration of the creation of a parking permit system for the beaches. Below are a number of options the City is looking for your feedback with regarding a potential parking permit system. The purpose is to help alleviate parking problems for Residence and Visitors.

Parking PERMIT Area Types
There are two (2) potential options for parking permit areas. One option is the creation of a Zone for parking within the Lewes Beach area. The creation of a Zone would designate specific areas where a parking permit would be valid. (ex. permit to park on select streets). The other option is to have a No-Zone. In a No-Zone area, parking would be permitted anywhere within the beach area. All parking within a Zone or No-Zone would require parking within designated parking spaces.
Options for parking are as follows...
ZONE PARKING Or NO-ZONE PARKING
Parking Permit Types
Options for a parking permit can include a hanging parking tag on the rearview mirror or the use of the License Plate number. To use the License Plate the vehicle owner would use an app to obtain a permit. Click on the title to see examples of the parking permit types.

TIMEFRAME OF PERMITS
Parking is at a premium on the Lewes beaches, to make it most effective for everyone to park, implementing either a Daily, Weekly, or Seasonal pass may be necessary. A weekly parking permit could be valid from Saturday to Saturday or Sunday to Saturday. The seasonal parking permit would be valid from May 1st through September 30th.

MAILBOXES - PLACEMENT AND TYPE OF MAILBOXES FOR LEWES BEACH
One of the recommendations from the Beach Parking Commission is to look at mailbox placement. Mailboxes can sometimes be blocked by illegally parked cars and can make it hard for citizens to receive their mail. There are two (2) options for moving forward. One option is Cluster mailboxes. The cluster mailboxes would be located at the end of a street. The second option is to leave the existing mailboxes where they are.
Click on the title to view photos of both options. Please select the option you prefer.

Parking space identification & delineation of parking spaces
Since parking is in such high demand, the allocation and delineation of parking spaces are important to determine the number of cars we should facilitate. Below, are two (2) categories for consideration.
