As the beaches reopen the City of Lewes is implementing measures to reduce the spread of the COVID-19 virus. The City is in contact with our leaders in the State of Delaware regarding recreation areas. This page will provide updates on the use of the beaches.
At this time, there will be limited parking within the lots. Please review the maps for parking availability. The parking meters will be operational on May 23, 2020.
Social distancing is critical to slowing the spread of the virus. When visiting the beaches, make sure to keep a minimum of six feet of distance between you and others. Wash your hands regularly, and do not touch your face. Most importantly, if you are sick, please stay home and away from others.
Masks are required to be worn at the restrooms and parking lots. Wearing a mask on the beach is encouraged; however, is not required unless you are interacting with others outside of your household.
The beach restrooms open on May 23, but will be closed at times during the day for cleaning. We ask for your patience as staff cleans the restrooms. Restrooms will close for the day at 8:00 p.m. daily.
